A New Sweet Spot on the Square

In the town of San Marcos The Root Cellar is a well-known café, and in May of 2014 the Root Cellar opened their own bakery.

“We like to celebrate what a cool town San Marcos is.” Said bakery associate Alicia. “The design in the bakery is really a group effort, not just one persons doing.”

The main purpose of the bakery is to house the companies catering business. The bakery can cater anything off of the Café menu and anything from the bakery menu. The bakery will cater any event you ask, they are especially known for catering weddings.

The Root Cellar Bakery has a leg up on all their competition because not only do they cater, they also provide a venue for your next party. You can now rent out the bakery for events. This feature really adds to the convenience factor of using the Root Cellar Café and Bakery to cater and host your event.

Although The Root Cellar Café is known for producing heart healthy food the bakery is more about the quality of their baked goods versus the health aspect. The bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods including items that are gluten free and vegan friendly. When the bakery first opened they asked that people bring in some of their favorite home recipes for baked goods, this just goes to show how much the Root Cellar Bakery tries to please the people of San Marcos.

“We want baked goods that are good for the soul,” said bakery associate Alicia.

Not only can you get your sweet fix here but you could also come in for a specialty drink. The Bakery offers a few different coffee and tea selections.

Next time you stop by the Bakery make sure to ask about their famous homemade jams and dressings, these are two of the items that customers continually want to sample and purchase.
